Can we use a Damo Guard to repair the bottom portion of the column?

No. The Damo Guard is a protective device, meant to deflect horizontal impacts. They are not to be used as reinforcement or repair.

If a Damo Guard is hiding rack damage, the guards should be taken out and the damage should be addressed with a rack repair solution, such as the Damo Pro or the Damo Flex.
